Terms and Conditions of Membership
Membership runs from 1st January until the 31st of December of the same year. All memberships will run until the 31st December of the year in which they are applied for regardless of the date of application.
Club membership is at the discretion of the Club Committee and as such they retain the right to decline any application for membership, their decision in such matters is final.
Any refund of the membership fee is at the discretion of the Club Committee, whose decisions in such matters are final.
The Club Committee reserve the right to accept applications for the following year prior to its start.
Membership applications will only be accepted from individuals holding a full BRCA licence for the period of Club membership, correctly completing the membership form and paying the appropriate membership fee.
Membership is limited to the individual only, it does not allow for members to invite or allow any other persons to use the tracks at Mendip RC Raceway, such “guests” will be required to purchase their own full or day membership to use the Clubs facilities.
Loss or suspension of a memberâ€™s BRCA licence will invalidate their membership with immediate effect. Under such circumstances club membership will be suspended until the licence is reinstated or the membership period expires whichever come first.Â The club will not offer a refund of the membership fee under these circumstances.
All members agree to abide by the club rules, directions and instructions from the committee or its nominated representatives and to comply with all signage and instructions displayed at the track and it environs.
All members accept responsibility for the security and safety of the track and its facilities including, but not limited to, locking the site after use, reporting any health and safety concerns, preventing damage to the track and its facilities through misuse, abuse or lack of care.
All members will comply with the BRCA General rules as outlined in the BRCA handbook.
It is the clubs aim to encourage Junior Racers to participate in RC Car Racing and to become members at Mendip RC Raceway, however it also acknowledges the importance of keeping those children safe and ensuring they are properly supervised. In light of this the following applies to all Junior Members.
Junior membership is only applicable to those under the age of 16 on the 1st January of the membership period being applied for.
Junior membership applications must be made by their Nominated Responsible Adult. The junior applicant must also hold a full BRCA licence.
Nominated Responsible Adults must have either parental responsibility or the permission of the legally responsible parent/guardian to make the application and to accompany the Junior Member whilst using the facilities at Mendip RC Raceway.
Junior members using the track must be accompanied by an adult preferably their Nominated Responsible Adult or an adult Club Member. It is recommended that any accompanying adult is at a minimum a Non-Driving Member of the BRCA to allow them access to the track area.
Any accompanying adult will be responsible for ensuring that they and any juniors they are accompanying comply with all club rules, directions and instructions from the committee or its nominated representatives and to comply with all signage and instructions displayed at the track and it environs. Accompanying adults accept responsibility for the security and safety of the track and its facilities including, but not limited to, locking the site after use, reporting any health and safety concerns, preventing damage to the track and its facilities through misuse, abuse or lack of care.
Any adult accompanying and supervising a Junior Member must have either parental responsibility or the permission of the legally responsible parent/guardian to do so.
To allow visiting drivers the opportunity to use the track for practice the committee will allow the purchase of day membership.
All non-members using the tracks are required to be current BRCA members and to purchase a day membership (including juniors) and membership is only valid for the date purchased.
Day members will abide by all rules and conditions of membership detailed above for both senior and junior members.
Day members are not entitled to any voting right or influence in the running of the club, its meetings or its site.
The club acts as an intermediary for arranging payment for camping on behalf of the sites owners.
Those paying for camping or using the site for camping or members of their parties have no right of access, assumed or otherwise, to the tracks, car parks or pit areas of the Mendip RC Raceway facilities other than toilet facilities granted at the clubs discretion.
However whilst on site those camping must comply with the terms and conditions of membership and particular attention is brought to those concerning the supervision of juniors and the security of the site.
Children must be supervised at all times.
The committee reserves the right to update, amend or add to these terms and conditions at any time, members will be notified by email of any changes made.
